Branch: West Chester YMCA
Location: West Chester, PA
Shifts/Availability: Tuesday-Saturday 1pm-9:30pm/FT/Non-Exempt
Pay Rate: $15.00-$17.00

About the YMCA of Greater Brandywine: The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW), an association of eight YMCAs serving Chester County, is a non-profit organization committed to nurturing the potential of every child, promoting healthy living and fostering social responsibility through life-changing programs for all.

Position Purpose: The West Chester YMCA is looking, under minimal supervision to maintain overall operation of YMCA building and grounds. As well as maintain a safe environment for members, participants and general public while performing maintenance work duties.

Responsibilities:

• Understand and perform custodial functions
• Maintain a safe environment for members, participants and general public while performing work duties
• Locker room cleanliness and trash removal
• Assist with occasional grounds maintenance tasks
• Evaluate and report any health, safety or cleanliness issues to supervisor Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of one year of facility maintenance experience required
• Demonstrate knowledge of basic custodial equipment and functions
• Ability to relate well with staff and general public
• Obtain and/or maintain a valid driver’s license
• Be willing to alter work schedule to deal with job demands and manage competing priorities
• Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
• Basic computer skills required
• Must be fluent in spoken and written English
