The Kensington in Hastings, NE is hiring for a Culinary Services Manager. This key leadership position is directly responsible for the successful operation of the Culinary Services experience, ensuring expectations, inventory control, monthly and annual budgets, hiring, and resolutions of issues. As a Culinary Services Manager, you'll prep, cook, serve, and direct the food service program to provide consistently tasteful, nutritious, and appealing meals/snacks, and promote healthy choices. Culinary Services Manager position details:
This exciting opportunity calls for an energetic, entrepreneurial culinary manager whose goal is to elevate the dining experience with a focus on quality and presentation for all residents and guests every day., This includes offering the highest-class, consistent, and personalized service we’re known for in communities across the U.S.
- Offer variety by developing new recipes and menu choices.
- Prepare meals, cook, and perform food service activities as required, which may include assisting with serving, washing dishes,& cleaning up.
- Supervise food service staff including hiring, training, scheduling, performing evaluations, etc.
- Help plan food service for activities and special events; organize/assist with culinary activities for residents to take part in and enjoy.
- Oversee purchase and delivery of food, equipment, supplies, etc. from approved vendors; maintain accurate inventory.
- Maintain a sanitary, orderly, and safe kitchen and dining environment, in compliance with State and Federal regulations; maintain the attractive appearance of dining and snack areas.
- Ensure efficient utilization and safe storage of food.
- Provide input to residents’ service plans.
- Conduct periodic surveys and meet with resident food committees and individuals to assure satisfaction with the food service program; make changes or improvements with approval.
- Orientate all staff members regarding functions, programs, and procedures for dining services.
- Meet with new residents to assess likes, dislikes, and special needs, and explain services and routines.
- Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information about residents, prospective residents, facility operations, and personnel.
- Recognize improvement opportunities. Prioritize, multi-task, and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
- Develop constructive relationships with co-workers, residents, and families.
- Participate in staff, resident, family, or marketing activities and events as directed.
- Stay in compliance with State and Federal food handling and safety regulations.
- Excellent verbal/written communication and problem-solving skills.
