Team Member Position Summary: Provide quality customer service and food products using standards set by Fourteen Foods and International Dairy Queen to enhance the customer’s visit.

Hiring Day and Evening Shifts.

Essential Functions:

  • Start and complete transactions with customers, this includes:
  • Greeting customers with a smile
  • Suggestive selling
  • Proper product preparation and order coordination
  • Accurate cash transactions
  • Prepare food products according to food preparation guidelines.
  • Follow and maintain adherence to all food safety standards.
  • A general working knowledge of all food/product preparation equipment.
  • Perform physical functions that include but are not inclusive to:
  • Standing, Sitting, Walking, Bending, Twisting, Kneeling and Climbing
  • Reaching, Lifting (0-50 lbs.), Carrying (0-50 lbs.), Grasping
  • Repetitive Motion
  • Working conditions may also vary in location/department; such as:
  • Heat (working in the kitchen), Cold (walk-in coolers and freezers)
  • Noise, Heights
  • Chemicals, Mechanical and Electrical Hazards
  • Perform cleaning duties in all areas of the store:
  • Sweep and mop floors, sweep and pickup parking lot
  • Wash dishes and utensils
  • Wipe counters and dining room tables
  • Keep food preparation area clean and neat
  • Empty trash receptacles and keep dumpster area clean
  • Clean the restrooms
  • Clean doors, windows and walls as needed
  • Clean and organize walk-in cooler, walk-in freezer and storage rooms
  • Stock supplies as needed throughout the day.
  • Work as a “team” member to assure consistent customer satisfaction.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Snow shoveling as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Shift Manager Position Summary: The Shift Manager provides quality customer service and food products using standards set by Fourteen Foods and International Dairy Queen to enhance the customer’s visit, while assisting and learning management responsibilities from the Assistant General Manager and General Manager.

Essential Functions:

Sales, Service and Community (75%)

  • Seeks to build dine-in, drive-thru, carry-out, and off-premise sales using approved marketing programs and tools including POP, reader board, LRM, delivery, catering, and fundraising.
  • Reenforces to lower level staff the importance ofincreasedcheck size (per person expenditure) through suggestive selling techniques.
  • Always puts the needs of DQ Fans as his/her top priority and ensures the team provides a level of service that consistently meets or exceeds Guest expectations, regardless of sales channel. Relentlessly pursues excellence in product quality, speed-of-service, order accuracy, cleanliness, and overall friendliness and hospitality.
  • Prepares food products according to Company established food preparation guidelines. Serves high quality DQ food products in a timely manner to maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Completes cash register transactions with customers and operates both front counter and drive-thru registers. Adheres to Company cash handling policies and maximizes profit through careful counting and tracking of cash in drawers and deposits.
  • Stocks supplies as needed throughout the day and puts away truck supplies from deliveries in a timely manner. Helps Assistant and General Managers keep accurate inventory counts to guarantee product availability and rotation of fresh products.

Leadership & Supervision (10%)

  • Manages his/her assigned shift as instructed by the Assistant General Manager and General Manager to defined levels of operations excellence in accordance with all established Company policies, procedures, and standards, Company values and applicable federal, state, and local laws.
  • Promotes safety and ensures security procedures are followed at all times in order to protect customers and Team Members alike. Takes proactive measures to prevent accidents and reports all safety and security-related incidents to General Manager immediately per Company policy.

Systems and Process Management (10%)

  • Maintains the physical facility, grounds, and equipment in accordance with Company standards through implementation of scheduled preventative maintenance and timely general upkeep and repairs. Ensures all equipment, tools and resources needed to meet or exceed desired results are always readily available.
  • Ensures all food safety policies and procedures are being practiced and maintained at all times. Preps, cooks, stores, and rotates products according to product specifications, food safety procedures, and operating policies. Maintains cleanliness and sanitation standards that mitigate risk of foodborne illness or product contamination.

Administration(5%)

  • Assists General and Assistant General Managers with a variety of administrative tasks and duties that enhance restaurant efficiency and operations, including planning, forecasting, scheduling, budgeting, inventory control, banking, cash reconciliation, etc. Leverages technology effectively to enhance business results.
  • Performs miscellaneous projects and duties as assigned.

Experience& Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

Minimum Age: Must be 18years of age or older.

Experience and Training:

  • External Candidates: 1+ years previous supervisory experience in Fast Food or Retail preferred.
  • Internal Candidates: 6+ months of experience as a successful DQ Team Member required.

Other:

  • Must successfully pass a background check.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to communicate and give directions, both verbally and in writing. Ability to listen effectively, process information quickly and accurately, and transfer knowledge in a variety of settings, including one-on-one, small groups and meetings. Ability to get things done with and through other people.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Calls upon experience and leadership skills to assess opportunities and risks, validate assumptions, make decisions, and take swift, appropriate actions.
  • Ability to adapt to, and manage, change. Demonstrates flexibility and mental agility when assessing and responding to various routine and non-routine situations. Ability to act decisively with or without sufficient information.
  • Possesses an entrepreneurial spirit, competitive nature and contagious enthusiasm that drive team performance to achieve desired results.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the primary language(s) of the work location. Fluency in English may be essential for certain customer service stations within this position
