Welcoming and outgoing personality, ability to work well with the public and associates. Adoption matchmaking in animal welfare does require excellent customer service skills.
Excellent phone skills, data entry, organizational and time management. The qualified candidate must be able to multi-task and have hands-on experience with cats. Ability to self regulate in stressful situations. Understanding of and ability to work within the highly emotional and stressful animal welfare on a daily basis.
Must be able to work weekends and some holidays. Responsible for processing adoptions, follow-ups, approving potential adopters, as well as communicating reasons for adoption denials. Must be able to assist with general functions of the shelter as needed including helping with laundry, cat movement, cleaning up after cat accidents during the day.
Schedule will be 11am to 6pm on Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Currently we use Shelterluv software which training and tutorials are available. Confident in data entry to software tools, scanning documents, creating new intake files and general filing,
Must be comfortable and compassionate in difficult conversations about animal welfare with the general public. This would include, but not limited to: declaw education, common feline illness and behavioral issues, and the inability to care for a household pet, in person, over the phone. Assist first-time adopters in feeling comfortable and confident in the adoption process, and make sure they understand what they are committing to. Must love cats!!
Hourly pay depending on experience with a 90 day review and raise upon positive outcome. Sick time and vacation time, and paid holidays available after first 90 days completed.
