CORPORATE CONTROLLER
SUMMARY: The Corporate Controller will guide the corporate accounting of the organization. He / She will have direct oversight of accounting related matters including, month-end close, bank reporting, external financial reporting, and the year-end audit. The Corporate Controller is responsible for developing and implementing best practices, processes, and systems to support the company’s accounting, financial reporting, and internal control environment. This professional will bring a strong sense building and developing our people, processes, and capabilities of the accounting and financial department to support the organization growth and strategies. This professional will be a member of the organization’s senior leadership team (SLT) as well as a member of the organization’s IT Steering Committee
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the primary contact for all accounting and treasury matters- includes overseeing all account receivable, account payable, and treasury management functions
- Lead person on accounting reporting structure, including oversight of general ledger structure.
- Drive the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process and ensure the accurate and timely accounting close for the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Ensure business processes are functioning appropriately and update where appropriate.
- Develop, implement, and document a robust business process to close the books with special emphasis on a structured, repeatable process with clear responsibilities – SOP deliverables
- Work closely with the external auditor and serve as the primary contact for all external audit matters
- Ensure the quality of the function’s deliverables are of the highest standard and install a culture of “no surprises”

- Responsible for reporting compliance with external customers (bank, legal, tax, sales).
- Ensure compliance and monitoring of internal controls for the entire company.
- Assist with the determination and completion of customer pricing and procurement models
- Assist the DOF and FP&A Manager of preparation and delivery of company budgets and forecasts.
- Effective communicator to various levels of upper and lower management.
- Lead the engagement of the accounting team with other parts of the business to drive value
- Lead a group of 4-6 staff members
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Accounting degree with a track record of promotions and leadership
- CPA, MBA, or CMA preferred; Public accounting experience is a plus
- Manufacture experience required. Food industry experience is a plus
- 10+ years of experience, 5+ in a financial management role
- Excellent knowledge of US GAAP
- Experienced knowledge of SAP ERP would be preferred
- Ability to lead and develop people, process, and technology
- Comfortable working in a growing and fast-paced company environment
- Hands-on, roll-up-the-sleeves mentality that does not rely on delegation or leveraging a large corporate staff to get the job done
