We have an opening for an Evening Supervisor / Cook for our retirement and continuing care community, a senior care organization focused on ensuring the health, safety, wellbeing and care of our seniors.

Starting hourly wage is $19.00-20.00 depending upon experience. Overtime is paid for regular hours worked over 8 per day and/or 80 per two-week pay period.

Odd Fellows is "a nice place to call Home" to nearly 230 residents in our independent living apartments, assisted living, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation area. We have 3 dining areas throughout our property, plus a café. Will work a rotating full-time schedule from 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

~ Supervise and inspire your crew of Culinary Assistants

~ Plan and provide nutritious meals to all residents on a daily basis.

~ Ensure food purchased is fresh.

~ Ensure all health & safety and environmental health standards are achieved and maintained.

~ Assist the Supervisor and other team members with producing, serving and cleaning up for the lunch and evening meals.

Duties in our dining rooms and commercial kitchen vary and include:

~ Set up kitchen workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.

~ Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.).

~ Follow recipes for specialized diets.

~ Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.

~ Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.

~ Check temperatures and quality of ingredients.

HIGHLIGHTS:

~ 1 year prior cooking experience required, preferably for senior-living clientele

~ Previous experience with institutional cooking and specialty diets preferred.

~ ServSafe certification preferred but not required for hire.

~ Food handler permit required within 14 days of hire.

~ Must be available to work any day of the week (rotating schedule).

~ Must be 18+ years of age.

~ Ability to multi-task and work in solid team environment.

~ Background check and pre-employment drug screen are required. Mandatory COVID vaccination.
