We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Permanent Assistant Controller to join our dynamic team in the apparel industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions, overseeing regulatory reporting, and coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements. This is a full-time position that highly prefers a Masters degree and a minimum of 7 years of experience.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day GAAP and other regulatory requirements accounting operations, including month-end close, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
• Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Manage the tax planning and compliance process, including the preparation of tax returns
• Hire, train and retain skilled accounting staff
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures, ensuring they are up-to-date and in compliance with industry standards
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
• Provide financial analysis and support to senior management as needed

Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Accounting or related field or CPA
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller or similar role
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and other regulatory requirements
• Experience overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
• Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to hire, train and retain skilled accounting staff
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other departments
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
