Description:
Provides vision, leadership, and professional expertise to ensure necessary contract manufacturing support of various Product, Supply Chain and Business strategies, as well as the satisfaction of customer needs and requirements through management of Contract Manufacturing operations per the applicable terms and conditions, laws, regulations, and ethical standards over the short, mid and long-term planning horizons. Continuously improve cost productivity, supply reliability, product and service quality, and people, while also understanding and reducing other various risks that come with 3rd party manufacturing relationships.
Organizational Relationships:
- Reports to W&P Shelter Supply Chain Leader
- Manages global team of Contract Administrators supporting the W&P-Shelter Contract Manufacturing network
- Works closely with the leaders from key functions like Supply Chain, Product, Quality, EHS/Product Stewardship, Sourcing/Procurement, Commercial, Continuous Improvement
Responsibilities:
Advancing Core Values
- Establishes managing processes for ensuring regulatory (SOX, Product Stewardship) and DuPont S12Y Standard compliance (EHS) and advancing DuPont Core Values (Ethics, Human Rights & Respect for People) across the Contract Manufacturing supplier network and DuPont Contract Administration personnel.
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Manage and provide leadership/coaching to the team of Contract Administrators who manage the 3rd party, Contract Manufacturing, relationships.
- Champion functional excellence in Contract Manufacturing Management, as defined by the CM CoE Standard Process Guide.
- Drive Risk Management and Performance Management processes for contract manufacturing to ensure reliable supply of products and services that meet quality standards and acceptable cost levels.
- Develop overall Contract Manufacturing strategy for the enterprise, aligned with the business and supply chain strategies, to deliver both short-term planning horizon and long-term business growth and earnings targets. This includes assuring resource planning that supports commercial launch timing for new Innovative Led Growth initiatives that have Asset Light strategies.
- Work with Contract Administration team to develop and execute Supplier exit strategies. Guarantee appropriate action is taken prior to termination of contract manufacturing operations to protect DuPont interests.
- Co-lead with Sourcing the identification and capability assessments of Contract Manufacturing suppliers to meet current and future business needs
- Co-develop with Sourcing the negotiation strategy and plans to deliver the business requirements for new or revised contracts. May participate in contract negotiations, renewals, and modifications.
Capability Development
- Manages the activities, performance, development, and capabilities of the Contract Administrators.
- Encourages employee’s engagement and fosters empowerment and ownership for the strategies associated with product lines that their Contract Manufacturers support.
- Complies with training requirements for role.
Financial Impact of Operations
- Manage costs associated with Contract Manufacturing commensurate with business objectives and drive continuous improvement processes that focus on productivity gains.
- Working with Procurement team, establishes managing processes to ensure the cost of materials and services from external sources is competitive.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Interfaces with the Integrated Operations Leader, Product Manager, Sourcing and Manufacturing Technology to develop the optimized supply chain plans.
- Assure for Contract Manufacturers that are deemed strategic, or critical, that the appropriate level of relationship management is developed with the supplier and the appropriate cross-functional leaders are engaged in strategic level discussions for the specific suppliers.
- Engages in Product and Supply Chain monthly IBP meetings to assure key Contract Manufacturing performance is noted in the planning cycles, with concerns and business impacts being passed up through the IBP process.
- Establishes and monitors data driven performance metrics for Contract Manufacturers

Qualifications:
Required:
- BS/BA degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
- 6 years of experience in Supply Chain, Product, Sourcing, or Manufacturing
- Manufacturing, or Supply Chain, direct line leadership experience such as:
- Contract Manufacturing Manager
- Supply Chain Manager
- Continuous Improvement Leader
- Operations/Manufacturing manager
Preferred:
- 3 years experience in Manufacturing and 2 years in Contract Administration
- 2 years experience in a Quality Management Function, or ISO 9001 auditor certification, with audit experience
- Six Sigma Green belt (or higher), or ASCM certification
