POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Construction & Development Inspector
City of The Dalles
Closing Date: Open until filled, first review April 21, 2023
The purpose of this position is to ensure public improvement construction and property development projects meet standards and specifications in accordance with the approved plans and permits. Performs project plan review, field inspection of new construction undertaken by developers, contractors and City crews, ensures compliance with terms and conditions of contract documents, City standards and planning approvals, and provides enforcement action in cases of non-compliance. Manages archived data related to construction of public improvements. Assists in engineering services as directed. Provides documentation and oversight of development projects as directed, including City projects, new commercial, residential sub-divisions and other property development.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job. Minimum requirements are:
Experience:
- One (1) year experience in plan review and/or field inspections of development projects is desired.
- Established skills using spread sheet, word processing, Auto-CAD, and GIS.
- Three (3) years project management or construction experience is desired.
Training:
- Post high school education in an applicable field pertaining to the position is preferred. Equivalent training and work experience is also desired.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE:
Valid Driver's License.
