Job description
- Work in corridors, lunchrooms and around the school grounds where students gather in order to prevent problems and discourage loitering as assigned
- Report to local school administration, problems between students or groups of students as they develop
- Encourage students to attend class regularly and promptly
- Assist in resolving student conflicts
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Escort children to and from various rooms
- Monitor activities to ensure safety of students, classmates and other staff
- Maintenance and disciplinary activities in lunchroom and in other school settings
- Assist students with bus arrival and departure
- Provide assistance with behavior management, physical management and social skills
- Work together as a team with teacher(s) and other support staff
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Other duties as assigned
- Read, write, and comprehend basic instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to staff, parents, students, and administrators
- Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
- Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions given in written, oral, or diagram form
- Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Work with parents and children of diverse cultural backgrounds
- Develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community
- Perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies

Education & Experience
