SUMMARY
The CNC Programmer will perform a variety of duties including set up in the operation of computer numerical control type of machine tools such as Swiss turning centers, 3 axis mills, and NC turning centers. They are responsible for reading and interpreting design blueprints, programming the CNC machine, and adjusting the machine settings until the desired specifications are met. A strong understanding speeds/feeds of tools, their effect on manufacturing cycle times with various materials such as Aluminum alloy, Stainless steel, Beryllium copper and brass is needed. The candidate will comply with all Machine Shop processes; including but not limited to all WI, (Work Instruction) MI, (Manufacturing Instruction) and OP, (Operating Procedures).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Receive, review and interrupt Machine Shop Paper, (MSP/Router).
- Create part programs from CAD database files, blue prints and sketches.
- Design necessary tooling and fixtures; request and fabricate as needed.
- Collaborate with team members on designs, prototypes and processes for CNC Mill Cell.
- Provide time estimates for essential functions, (programming, fixtures, set-up and runtimes).
- Acquire and load all tooling as appropriate; remove and properly store excess tooling.
- Install and properly set work holding devices, (vises, fixtures or collet holders).
- Enter Part Program, adjust tool offsets, remove, re-sharpen and replace tooling as needed.
- Understand blue prints and interpret geometrical tolerances. .
- Complete and provide all coordinating documents, First Article Inspection, (FAI), First Article Sheet, and MSP/Router.
- Maintain SQDC board, Overall Equipment Effectiveness, (OEE) and 6s.
- Provide First Article Inspection, (FAI).
- Troubleshoot and evaluate machining problems and communicate clear and effective needs to MS Supervisor.
- Operate and monitor quantity and quality of parts.
- Maintain required maintenance on equipment, (oil, coolant, lube, pneumatics, etc.).
- Walking 10%, standing 90% and lifting up to 25 LBS. or less
- Able to use all inspection equipment essential to the task.
- Support the Quality System by promoting compliance to the company’s Quality Manual, procedures and policies.
- Performs additional duties within the Machine Shop department as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Carlisle Interconnect Technologies is a clean facility, housing different machinery, equipment, processes, and chemicals which produce potential hazards in the work environment such as: ergonomic, chemical, machine point of operation, and powered industrial vehicle traffic. These hazards are controlled through means of engineering controls, such as machine guarding, and administrative controls, such as safety policies and programs. In certain areas of the facility, employees are required to wear Personal Protective equipment such as Hearing Protection, Safety Glasses, Safety Toe Shoes, and hand protection.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
- ASTM F–2412–2005, ANSI Z41–1999, or ANSI Z41–1991 rated safety toe shoes
- Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety rated glasses
- Hearing protection, in specific locations

QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 5 years’ experience on CNC Mill including sett-ups or comparable experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Master Cam.
- Programming experience with Swiss Deco and Citizen Swiss machine software a plus
- Good understanding of shop math, geometry, trigonometry, and blueprint reading, and GD&T.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to setup and operate one or more machines.
- Extensive experience with computer modeling software.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- AA or BS a plus but not required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on equivalent basis
- Vocational, High School diploma, or general education degree (GED).
