We are seeking an individual to join our team in Portland, CT. as a CNC Lathe/Milling Operator & Programmer. We have a full time first shift opening for an experienced CNC professional with demonstrated knowledge in the set up, programming, and operation of CNC lathe and milling machines. Plus the opportunity to join the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Union.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop machining standards by studying work orders, blueprints, materials, and specifications; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) whenever applicable.
• Generate programs for CNC lathe and milling machines.
• Verifying settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to blueprint requirements and customer specifications
• Perform first piece in process inspection using standard measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges and dial gauges
• Troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
• Support Design and Manufacturing Engineering as required.
• Maintaining safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Maintaining equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
• Maintain clean, organized and safe work environment following all safety standards and requirements.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent education and experience required
• 3-5 years of milling and turning experience including set-up and troubleshooting
• Must be able to read & interpret blue prints & GD&T symbols
• CNC Certificate preferred but not required
• Demonstrated skill working in a team environment
• Must have a positive attitude
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing a plus
