Job description
SUMMARY:
The Clinician provides documented individual and group clinical services and case management to clients according to the clinical design and with the goal of maximizing positive clinical outcomes for the persons served.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provides quality clinical services and case management to assigned clients in accordance with the clinical design and in compliance with all regulatory agencies and insurance providers.
· Conducts intake assessments, treatment plans, aftercare planning and discharge summaries and completes all associated documentation within required time frames.
· Facilitates intensive outpatient (IOP), partial hospitalization (PHP) and other outpatient treatment (OP) groups to clients and documents all client interactions in the EHR.
· Refers clients to appropriate services in the community as necessary per their identified needs and treatment plan.
· Coordinates and communicates with outside treatment providers and services as needed to ensure the best overall care for persons served and meeting their needs outside the scope of our services.
· Demonstrates a high-level of interpersonal skills and customer service when interacting with clients, co-workers, families, vendors, and outside agencies
· Consistently arrives for work on time and adheres to the program’s attendance policies.
· Ensures groups, appointments and other scheduled activities consistently begin on time according to the schedule.
· Strictly adheres to HIPAA and confidentiality policies when responding to inquiries for client information; consults with management if needed before disclosing information.
· Demonstrates the ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities and complete duties in the allotted time.
· Assists with insurance authorizations, support to the billing vendor when trying to obtain authorizations and other activities to support billing and utilization review processes.
· Participates in treatment team meetings, case review and supervision as directed.
· Maintains comprehensive current clinical skills, competencies, licensure and/or certification as required
· Assists with behavior management, crisis management and other situations as needed.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
· Master’s degree in counseling, education-counseling, mental health, social work or related field required (may substitute a bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum of two years of supervised substance use disorder counseling experience)
· Minimum of two (2) years of supervised experience in substance abuse, mental health, or other related behavioral health setting required.
· Licensure or certification in alcohol and drug counseling, mental health or counseling is preferred.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and electronic health records required.
· Must display the use of appropriate independent judgment to determine appropriate course of action in managing client behavior, resolving problems and in emergencies.
· Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary, culturally diverse setting with clients, families, staff and regulatory agencies.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach, stoop, talk and hear or otherwise perform any number of physical activities that may be required in completing daily tasks. Candidate may be asked to lift as much as 25 pounds while completing essential duties and responsibilities of the position.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary, culturally diverse setting with clients, families, staff and regulatory agencies.
CONTINUING EDUCATION:
Must attend annual mandatory in-service and education programs. Must complete education required for maintenance of professional certification or licensure.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
