We believe successful investment approaches are predicated on sharing ideas, insights, and most importantly, building strong relationships. Clocktower Group is an asset management and investment advisory firm based in Santa Monica, CA with an office in Shanghai. We have developed the world’s premier network of institutional investors, managers, and market thinkers focused on hedge fund and venture investing.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Chief of Staff to support our Partner who leads Public Markets in overseeing our global macro and China-centric investment teams. As Chief of Staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and successful completion of the Public Markets team’s most vital tasks, as well as pushing current projects and strategic goals across the finish line.

A competitive candidate will be an independent learner with integrity and energy, committed to executing to the highest standard every time. You should be ambitious, extremely organized, and able to function quickly and efficiently. This is a challenging role that requires someone who is eager to dive deeply into the alternative asset management space.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Thinking: Collaborate with our investment, marketing, and operations teams to establish and execute strategic initiatives that drive the growth and success of the organization.
  • Gatekeeping: Ensure the Public Markets Partner is involved in decision-making processes at the right moment and manage their calendar and schedule. You will also ensure that the rest of the firm is up to date on all relevant happenings.
  • Project and Information Management: Push the team to complete strategic projects and coordinate regular internal and external deliverables. You will also maintain open communication with all teams to ensure our Public Markets Partner is well-informed of all happenings.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of work experience, preferably in the alternative asset management industry.
  • We are seeking someone who can take responsibility for mission-critical work and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, while working well under pressure.
  • A relentless focus on quality of execution and attention to detail, with a friendly, positive attitude.
  • A self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset who doesn’t require constant attention but knows when to step up and ask for help and is never afraid to take a stab at problem solving.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Total commitment to honesty and integrity, always expressing opinions in a professional manner.
  • Proficient with PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. CRM experience is a plus.
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination required (subject to any exemptions or accommodations due to medical or religious reasons).

What we offer:

  • A supportive environment that provides you with all the resources you need to learn and grow professionally.
  • A dynamic and challenging role that offers variety and the opportunity to work on a wide range of initiatives.
  • The autonomy to take ownership of your work and implement your own ideas.
  • The chance to work alongside a team of high-performing individuals who work with some of the most sophisticated investors and entrepreneurs in the world.
  • World-class benefits
    • Delicious, healthy lunches and snacks
    • Fully paid, top-tier medical coverage and other perks
    • Beautiful office space with amazing ocean views
