Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team in Denver, CO. As a Surgical Technologist, you will assist during surgical procedures by ensuring and maintaining the integrity of a sterile surgical field and providing instrumentation as needed to the surgical team. In addition, you will participate in unit activities that assure high levels of quality related to patient care and function under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique and combine knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation of tools and technologies in performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. This is a contract position with rotating shifts of 3X12s for either 10 or 26 weeks.

Responsibilities:

Possess expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique, combining knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation of tools and technologies in performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
Maintain and check all items for proper packaging, processing, moisture, seal and packaging integrity, sterile indicator if present, and expiration dates.
Ensure that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.
Monitor sterile field for events that may contaminate, interfere, or alter the field and initiate or notify of the need for corrective action under supervision.
Assist the team in patient transports, room turnovers, and room preparation.
Model professional behavior to include maintaining currency in new technologies and procedures, including instrumentation and equipment.
Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization.
Role model the principles of a Just Culture.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Completion of a Certified Surgical Technologist program and/or Licensed Surgical Technologist.
Licensed as a Surgical Technologist in the state of Colorado.
Basic Life Support (BLS) by American Heart Association.
Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
