Our Bentonville, Arkansas location is currently seeking a Category Advisor to join their team! The essential function of this role is accountable for working directly with Walmart’s buying team and support merchandising team to identify key department/category metrics and successfully translate that data into actionable insights.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Work directly with Walmart’s buying team and support merchandising team
• Identify key department/category metrics and successfully translate that data into actionable insights
• Support Walmart Canada using Retail Link regarding trends, opportunities etc.
• Leverage syndicated data to provide key industry and department/category insights
• Conduct market specific assessments of competitors, vendors, and customers to support decisions and influence management
• Provide recommendations according to performance-item additions, deletion, and retention based upon outlined criteria
• Use company systems (Retail Link, IRI, Etc.) and processes to provide actionable department/category insights
• Respond to and facilitate department/category analytics for ad-hoc requests
• Assist in development of annual sales growth and promotional plans
• Proactively identify and communicate customer opportunities and goals using multiple data sources
• Implement selling concepts and tools to support category projects
• Provide custom analyses to understand trends and support company initiatives

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or other related field
• Minimum of 2-4 years business analytics experience
• Advanced analytical capability
• Previous experience using Walmart Retail Link is required
• Previous experience deriving consumer insights from syndicated Data (such as IRI / Nielsen) required
• Strong leadership and decision-making capability and a proven track record of measured success
• Proficiency working in Microsoft Office Suite of applications
