POSITION SUMMARY:


The Cath Lab Lead is responsible for the coordination and scheduling of patient care delivered in the Cardiac Cath Lab. The Cath Lab Lead is expected to apply hospital policies and procedures as well as Standards of Care. The Cath Lab Lead assumes responsibility for assisting physicians with diagnostic and interventional cardiac invasive procedures on patients ranging in age from neonatal to geriatric, as needed. The Cath Lab Lead prepares schedules within specified guidelines and timeframes, assists management in holding staff accountable to policies and procedures, identifies educational needs and assists in providing the training and education of personnel. In addition, he/she maintains daily/weekly huddle notes, identifies and works to improve/correct any safety issues and/or opportunities for improvement, adheres to policy and procedure in the assessment, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of the cardiovascular services provided.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


Education:

  • High school graduate
  • College diploma preferred
  • Applicant may be either graduate of accredited Radiology Technology program, or be a current Cardiovascular Technologist.


Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years in Cardiac Cath Lab
  • Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, proficient in all areas of diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Supervisory experience a plus

Licensure:
  • Current BLS
  • Maintain current licensure necessary for either RT or CVT standings
  • ACLS within 6 months of hire
  • PALS and Balloon Pump (IABP) certification within 1 year of hire
