Position Summary

The Campus Coordinator assists the Aviation Campus Director in day-to-day duties at the college to include keeping the college in compliance with Title 14 CFR Part 147 requirements as well as overseeing aviation equipment, classrooms, and labs to provide exemplary instruction to students. The Campus Coordinator trains new instructors and adjuncts on FAA requirements, record keeping, Canvas, and equipment use procedures. Additionally, the Campus Coordinator maintains responsibility for quality instructional services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

General Administrative and Campus Duties
  • Implements College mission and policies.
  • Assists in the day-to-day operations of the campus.
  • Exhibits knowledge of current enrollment, occupational, and subject matter trends.
  • Tracks and utilizes employability data.
  • Works with the Campus Director to develop, implement, and oversee policies and procedures for the divisions on campus.
  • Engages with community employers and organizations.
  • Conducts other duties as assigned by the Aviation Campus Director.
FAA Compliance and Aviation Duties
  • Keeps the college in compliance with the FAA 14 CFR Part 147 requirements.
  • Validates that all skills, knowledge, and risks in the Airman Certification Standards are taught and evaluated.
  • Establishes and provides oversight of FAA record keeping.
  • Advises the Campus Director on current equipment trends and lab technologies.
  • Assesses aviation credit hour transfers and makes arrangements for appropriate credit hour testing when required.
Personnel Management
  • Recruits and interviews prospective faculty when appropriate.
  • Recommends employment, continuance, and dismissal.
  • Facilitates conflict resolution.
  • Approves and tracks leave for instructors.
  • Works with faculty in areas such as professional development, curriculum, and student life.
Oversight of Instruction and Curriculum
  • Trains and integrates new adjunct, full-time, and substitute instructors on policies, procedures, lab capabilities, training aids, Canvas, SharePoint, and lesson plans.
  • Observes aviation classrooms, labs, facilities, and equipment to make recommendations to ensure instructional needs are met.
  • Assists with making class schedules and assigning instructors.
  • Finds and schedules substitute instructors when needed.
  • Monitors currency of teaching materials and A&P pass rates to make recommendations on ways to improve.
  • Assists with planning and development of new courses and programs.
  • Compiles and submits learning outcome data, generates student analysis, and provides plans of improvement for Institutional Effectiveness and College Accreditation using Watermark Assessment and Accreditation software.
  • Implements strategies that increase the successful acquisition of aviation credentials.
  • Keeps all current class materials on SharePoint.
  • Copies and creates new courses in Canvas; assists instructors with Canvas questions and issues.
  • Ensures instructors keep student Phase Sheets current on SharePoint.
  • Updates curriculum, plans of instruction, syllabi, and lesson plans to stay in compliance with FAA and SACSCOC.
  • Observes instructors in a lab and/or classroom setting and writes evaluations on instructors.
  • Provides ongoing professional development for aviation faculty.
  • Assists with the coordination, scheduling, and maintenance of off-campus instructional sites.
Student Responsibilities
  • Advises and counsels students regarding aviation and/or course and program related issues.
Equipment and Safety
  • Supervises maintenance and repair of aviation instructional and support equipment; submits a work order or requisition for repairs.
  • Establishes and oversees an aviation safety program.
  • Establishes procedures and oversees storage and disposal of hazardous materials IAW regulations.
Business and Financial Responsibilities
  • Assists with budget formation and execution.
  • Assists with the development of specifications and bid lists for equipment and supplies.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of an Associate Degree (AA, AS, or AAS) from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Current Airframe & Powerplant license
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of aviation
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience
  • Classroom/lab instructional experience required
  • Experience with FAA regulations preferred
  • LMS (Learning Management System) Experience preferred
  • Safety Training preferred
  • HAZMAT Training and Experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
  • Communicate in a professional, effective and pleasant manner with students, college employees and the general public.
  • Ability to demonstrate use of office equipment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word.

SALARY:
Salary Schedule C3 1 $62,330 - $94,864 , to be determined by the applicant’s education and years of applicable experience. Applicant acknowledges that if selected for the position that applicant’s placement on the applicable salary schedule will be dependent upon the verified information provided.
