As Leedstone continues to grow, we are actively seeking to add a full-time Calf Care Specialist to our team at our Melrose, MN location. This opportunity represents an excellent chance to work in the progressive Upper Midwest dairy market. This role has a focus on assisting our dairy customers in achieving improved production/profitability in their operations. The chosen individual will be part of a dynamic dairy team that brings expertise to their dairy customers.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop strategies to increase the market share.
- Work closely with our Outside Sales professionals in providing education and solutions for dairy producers.
- Demonstrate strategic and tactical planning skills necessary to provide solutions-based selling of value-add technologies.
- Ability to work and produce independently while contributing and participating in a team-oriented environment.
- Provide tracking reports on marketing and service activities as management requires and maintain up-to-date and accurate customer history records.
- Maintain a high level of proficiency and competency in dairy calf and heifer nutrition, production management, and selling skills through recommended training and verified by documented sales results.
- Work both individually and as part of a team, helping dairy producers mutually benefit by providing the right recommendations for nutrition and dairy management practices.
- Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned or requested.
Education/Experience/Requirements:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.
- Proven dairy sales experience.
- Preferred candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience with an animal science/nutrition emphasis, and a proven track record of growing and maintaining a customer base.
- Candidate should have a good understanding of animal husbandry, current management practices, and nutritional guidelines.
- Successful candidate should be competent to have basic command of animal nutrition and management recommendations in the market.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, focus, strong organization and time management skills.
- Success in this position requires cold calling, high internal drive, a natural ability for relationship building, public speaking aptitude, and leadership in a team environment.
