About Us

BYKlyn Studios is Brooklyn's premier boutique fitness studio. We started in 2014 with a small indoor cycling studio. We’ve grown every year including during COVID when we held classes outside! We’re locally owned with three pillars that define our company: community, diversity and inclusion. In June 2022 we’re opening a new state-of-the-art studio - a fitness oasis in downtown Brooklyn. We're looking for great people to join our team!

About the Crew:

Our front desk crew is at the forefront of the BYKlyn experience. They ensure that all clients feel welcome, included and supported from the moment they enter. The Crew ensures smooth operations from open to close – morning, noon and night – with intentional hospitality, customer service, and positive energy at the heart of every interaction. The Crew position is multifaceted: customer service, sales, maintenance and marketing.

About the Job

Everything begins with Customer Service. You must be a great listener and communicator (written and oral) and willing to go above and beyond for clients. This is the central part of every job at BYKlyn.

  • Connect with Clients: Have real conversations- get to know clients. Check in and welcome clients. Sell merch, fit clients on bikes and share news about events, challenges and classes. Show extra love to new clients and follow up after.
  • Open and close the studio: Everyone is a key holder here. Everyone knows how to open and close the studio.
  • Maintenance: We ALL work to keep the studio clean: Everyone cleans bikes, equipment, floors and bathrooms and everyone does the laundry. If you’re afraid or unwilling to wear gloves and clean, this is not a job for you.
  • Social Media: We need you! We count on our Crew to capture all the moments and spread the news. Our crew posts stories every day and many help with our regular posts as well.
  • Sales: We work together to help our clients get the most from their fitness journey. We all work to sell memberships and packages. The Crew receives bonuses every quarter based on sales targets.
  • Meetings: Every two-weeks, we host Crew meetings to share, learn and compare notes. We also host quarterly staff outings because who doesn’t love to hang out with the whole Crew.

What we’re looking for:

  • Passion for fitness & wellness
  • Energetic, outgoing and personable. You’re not afraid to talk to people, find out their wants and close a sale.
  • Outstanding customer service and problem solving skills
  • Love for learning, taking on responsibilities and a can-do attitude
  • College Graduate
  • Interest in social media
  • Added plus: fitness and front desk experience and knowledge of Minbody software

The job is part time. Open Shifts include early mornings, weekends and evenings. Pay: $15-16 an hour depending on experience.

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

COVID-19 considerations:
We have ample masks and gloves for all employees as well as hand sanitizer. Riders do not wear masks if fully vaccinated. Staff are not required to wear mask
