What is this career opportunity?
General Services Division (GSD) is comprised of Capitol Facilities Maintenance, Real Property & Leasing, Surplus Property & Recycling, and State Print & Mail. GSD is seeking a Business Coordinator to join their central operations team, at the direction of the Planning & Operations Manager. The ideal Business Coordinator is a highly organized, self-motivated, professional that will support the overall GSD mission of smart stewardship over State assets. This position is responsible for engaging division leadership and project managers in order to help synchronize business functions and digital assets.

The Business Coordinator performs a variety of technical and administrative duties within GSD operations, including:

  • Support basic accounting technician functions
  • Prepare materials for public meetings such as agenda, information packets, minutes, etc.
  • Manage digital share drive
  • Operational reporting and data coordination
  • Logistical support for division activities (Capitol Square Farmer’s Market, Capitol events, Surplus Garage Sales, etc.)
  • Policy Knowledge Base administration
  • Asset tracking

This position offers potential development opportunities including data visualization, an understanding of basic business operations, and information research and analysis.

In this position you will be afforded the opportunity to telework, however there will be required weekly in office day(s) in Helena. Specific conditions will be outlined as part of the job offer and must adhere to state policy.

This position will be open till filled with a May 15, 2023, first review date.


What are we looking for?

Education and Experience:

  • Two years of post-secondary education in business administration, accounting, or a related field; and one-year applicable experience.
  • Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
