Idaho National Laboratory’s (INL) Transportation Services group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a Bus Dispatch Supervisor! Our team works an on-site 9x80 schedule with every other Friday off located at our Idaho Falls facility.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead all aspects of Bus Operations Dispatch functions. Direct dispatchers to ensure necessary actions are taken to cover all runs, routes, and driver work assignment with personnel and buses to complete daily tasks.
  • Responsible for scheduling and ensuring Company sponsored tours are scheduled and completed.
  • Support negotiations on bargaining unit agreement and work with bargaining unit.
  • Ensure each Dispatcher has the appropriate training commensurate with their specific duties, and that training standards are established, implemented, maintained, and documented in a Transportation Services Training program.
  • Assign only trained/qualified personnel to dispatch.
  • Support continuous improvement and self-assessment process as specified in the Transportation self-assessment plan.
  • Coordinate emergency evacuation routes and respond for Bus Operations as a member of the Emergency Response Organization.
  • Report to Transportation Services Manager.
  • Provide a safe and environmentally compliant work area for personnel by ensuring all activities are conducted in a manner that implements the Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS), Voluntary Protection Program (VPP), and applicable Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert on dispatcher processes.
  • Provide direct supervision, mentoring, and development to the 24x7 bus dispatch personnel ensuring that the ATU contract and standard operating procedure are followed.
  • Lead interface between INL Tours, customers, and dispatch to ensure that personnel and tours are covered.
  • Investigate bus accidents and/or employee injuries and conduct accident reviews and close-outs working towards zero accidents and injuries. Participate in Human Performance Improvement and Lean Manufacturing process initiatives.
  • Coordinate dispatcher coordination of bus trades for maintenance and repair, tracking bus locations, and dispatching motor pool cars, as needed. Monitor weather for safe bus operation.
  • Create all holiday work schedules for bussing operations. Report and assist on government vehicle accidents and breakdowns.

QUALIFICATIONS


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years relevant experience or 13 years equivalent relevant experience required.
  • Working knowledge of DOT requirements and regulations
  • Computer skills with a strong level of proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
