Position Summary

A building technician supports construction managers, architects, and other workers in supervising the construction project from start to finish. They draft blueprints and building plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software and estimate building costs. They also negotiate with suppliers and clients regarding details of materials, labor, and equipment.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Supervise the construction work and ensure compliance with building codes and regulations
• Join clients, contractors, and building inspectors in meetings to report progress and other matters of the project connected with the deadlines, budget, and resources.
• Maintain and repair equipment inside of the C-store and any issues in the building
• Perform electrical, plumbing, painting, locksmithing, drywall work to maintain the condition of the C-store
• Perform roof work, repairs
• Asphalt repairs at the parking lot
• Expect to travel from site to site; inspect facilities, buildings, and grounds for routine maintenance; prioritize repairs.
• Ensure facilities and buildings are in compliance with ADA and other federal guidelines and safety regulations Education and Work Experience
• Building technician experience.
• HS Diploma or Equivalent.
• Completion of apprenticeship programs Preferred
• Valid driver’s license – Commercial driver’s license Preferred.
