The role:
We are recruiting for a building manager to join our Business Operations Section! In this role, you will oversee and support facility operations for the Technical Leadership Center, Salem Materials Lab, Milwaukie Lab and the Roseburg Lab. You will be responsible for managing, planning and directing all facility operations and maintenance including security, safety and coordination of multiple facility related projects. Apply today!

A day in the life:
-
Develop, implement, evaluate and modify strategic plans, deficiencies list and resources with the business operations manager and Facilities Services Branch for the continual management of the owned and leased buildings, grounds and associated assets.

Track and monitor expenditures on the facility budget and make recommendations for future facility budget planning.

Coordinate with the appropriate staff and contractors for all building oversight to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner.

Provide oversight and direction to facility contractors and serve as the contract administrator for facility related contracts.

Provide project management oversight along with Facilities Services Branch for all building moves, workstation design, electrical, lighting and ergonomic upgrades or issues.

Develop and maintain the facilities manual and coordinate updates and reviews.
-
Serve as the site emergency coordinator and participate in various committees and work groups.
-
Research, evaluate and prepare various reports for branch management and make recommendations.
-
Solicit information from managers to help coordinate and prioritize building system improvements.
-
Prepare summaries and conclusions of research on operational and procedural issues.
-
Monitor gas and electric usage, report on usage monthly and track energy savings to ensure updates to create efficiencies are implemented and building is functioning efficiently.

Manage and coordinate facilities communications related to building issues, safety, and emergency management.
-
Work in an office environment with hybrid work options available and occasional regional travel required.

May be required to lift or move up to 40 pounds.

What we need:
Any combination of experience or education equivalent to three years technical-level experience that typically supports the knowledge and skill requirements listed for the classification.
OR
A bachelor's degree in business or public administration, behavioral or social sciences, finance, political science, or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills.
Driving is an essential function of this position. You must have a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s). Your license does not have to be issued in Oregon to be considered.

Experience with facility management with demonstrated experience in performing general maintenance and repair of facilities.

Demonstrated ability to manage multi-phase projects from start to finish, often in coordination with others, with minimal supervision.

Knowledge and experience conducting ergonomic assessments, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance, facility configurations and cubicle assembly.
-
Demonstrated experience with computer systems and software typical to the analysis and reporting of business data, including the ability to analyze and recommend best value and options.
-
Experience compiling reports and analyzing data to draw conclusions and propose a course of action; prepare reports that summarize analysis and conclusions.

Knowledge of state contracts and procurement laws to obtain estimates or quotes or experience working as a contract administrator for facility related contracts.
