Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
Location: Center-Based Services
Type: W2 Employee

Job Description:
Provide Applied Behavior Analysis consultation and evaluation to outpatient clients. Prepare and maintain records and reports pertaining to patient evaluation and treatment plans. Supervise staff as assigned.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer assessments including VB MAPP, Essentials for Living, Functional Assessments, and Functional Analysis.
  • Implement data collection, review, and modify treatment according to the data.
  • Create behavior plans for each child on the caseload as needed.
  • Create and modify Individualized Treatment Plans for each child on caseload as needed.
  • Document progress on goals and report to insurance every 90 days by completing the Plan of Care.
  • Maintain supervision notes and documentation daily in client files that meet the insurance provider guidelines and company policies.
  • Instruct, motivate, and assist patients to learn and improve functional activities.
  • Facilitate Natural Environment Training when appropriate.
  • Observe patients during treatment, and compile and evaluate data on patient responses to treatments and progress.
  • Train behavior technicians to appropriately and successfully apply the principles of behavior through the application of positive behavior intervention techniques.
  • Directly observe treatments administered by behavior technicians.
  • Review technician’s documentation and data collection and provide all feedback as needed to ensure Treatment Plan is carried out with integrity.
  • Provide ongoing training in behavior change techniques as needed to behavior technicians.
  • Complete consultation notes at each consultation and submit in the medical chart.
  • Provide scheduled consultations face to face with patient and technician, review data, and update program and model techniques for the technician.
  • Confer with members of the child’s family, ABA therapy staff, and other health team members, individually and in the conference, to exchange, discuss, and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment programs.
  • Provide assistance to any KFS ABA patient when requested.
  • Lead Behavior Technician staff meetings/training weekly.
  • Complete 35 BCBA billable hours a week during each full-time workweek.
  • Accept home-based cases if 35 BCBA billable hours cannot be obtained weekly on center-based cases.
  • Visit children in-home or other out-of-center locations to appropriately complete assessments and reassessments.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Complete billing sheet accordingly to insurance codes authorized and submit in the designated time frame.
  • Provide family training when necessary.
  • Keep a running tab of direct service hours and/or supervision hours each month to ensure you do not go over the allowable hours on the client’s authorization. (This information will be given to you upon starting a new case. You may request more if necessary, but the request will not be retroactive.)
  • Communicate by checking voicemail and email regularly.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the parent regarding the child’s progress and plan of care.
  • Prepare and conduct Staff Performance Reviews with Clinical Director and Center Director.
  • Provide supervision to BCBA candidates as outlined in the BCBA Supervision Contract.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of a Master’s degree from an accredited university in behavior analysis, education, or psychology (Applied Behavior Analysis is preferred).
  • At least 3 years of experience working with children with Autism or other developmental disabilities.
  • Must maintain credentialing in compliance with the BACB.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  • Must complete Continuing Education courses as outlined by the BACB.
  • Must complete supervision courses as outlined by the BACB.
  • Professional Liability Insurance.
  • Must maintain state Licensure.
  • Maintain a negative Tuberculosis screening according to the CDC.
  • Obtain and possess and maintain current CPR/First Aid certification and re-certification every 2 years.
  • Successful completion and maintenance of Safety Care Training.
  • Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release.
  • Maintain a clear criminal record.
  • Successfully manage behavior technicians.
  • Exhibit superior organizational skills.

Preferred Skills:
  • Must possess excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  • Prior positive interactions and experience with the pediatric population.

Physical Demands:
  • Must have full physical dexterity/agility or be able to independently position self and perform all movements required (bending, kneeling, computer typing, standing, fetching documents from file cabinets).
  • Must have sufficient corrected or uncorrected vision to carry out all duties and responsibilities.
  • Need to be able to lift and carry pediatric population (weight ranging from 5 to 50 lbs.)
