Billing Recovery Specialist

We are looking for a master multi-tasker with excellent communication skills and an upbeat attitude. The Billing Recovery Specialist will oversee all resident accounts and obtain payments for outstanding balances. These balances will be for rent, fines, move out damages, or any other fees incurred. Communication is critical in this role to follow-up on payment plans via text, email and phone. This is a great opportunity to gain an understanding of the inner workings of property management and real estate investing.

Billing Recovery Specialist

Reports to: Finance Leader

Compensation: TBD, based on experience

Location: Office is in Kaukauna

To be successful in this role, you should be professional, polite, organized and attentive while also having attention to detail. The ideal person is always prepared and responsive, and willing to meet each challenge directly. You must be comfortable with computers, general office tasks, and excel at both verbal and written communication. Most importantly, you have a genuine desire to meet the needs of others.


What you have already achieved (Requirements)*

  • Prior customer service experience.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Google Drive, and Power Point.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Desire to be proactive and create a positive experience for others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and professional demeanor
  • Ability to work independently and also with a team, manage large workloads, and keep deadlines

What you are great at (Responsibilities):

  • Collecting, tracking, and managing delinquent accounts
  • Properly scan, upload and file all 5 day legal notices to delinquent resident’s online portal
  • Accurately post all necessary paperwork to file an eviction
  • Partner with the legal team on any lease violations
  • Ability to create payment plans, receive and enter receipts into the system
  • Answering phone calls from residents and helping to problem solve issues
  • Handling office tasks, such as filing, generating reports and monthly communication
  • Communicate effectively with all residents through email, phone and text to help answer questions, create payment plans and diffuse situations when needed
  • Efficiently process move outs through system and complete analysis of inspections collected
  • Manage spreadsheets on a daily basis to ensure accuracy with scheduling timeframes
  • Complete security deposits and operating procedure around issuing and collecting payments
  • Utilize our system to log, track and efficiently process all documentation
