A top-ranked solar installer in the nation according to Solar Power World, is seeking a Benefits Manager with excellent management skills and experience in designing quality benefit plans to lead and direct our group benefits programs. This role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, flexible spending plans, retirement plans, and other benefits. The Benefits Manager will continuously explore new benefit programs, improve existing programs, and supervise and monitor benefits administration. Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.
- Coordinate data transfer to external contacts for services, premiums, and plan administration.
- Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations.
- Manage daily benefits processing, including enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, QDROs, QMCSOs, distributions, loans, hardships, and compliance testing.
- Oversee maintenance of employee benefits files, group benefits database, and employee payroll records.
- Collect employee data and oversee the processing of monthly billings and preparation of vouchers for payment of administrative fees for all group plans.
- Allocate group health and dental claims monthly and review quarterly.
- Perform plan audits and survey industry trends.
- Monitor administrative costs of benefits programs and recommend cost containment strategies.
- Develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package and provide training and support to group benefits associates, home office associates, and field staff.
Requirements:
- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with Microsoft products; experience with HRIS and benefits databases.
- Project and team management/leadership skills and experience.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills and thorough knowledge of plan designs.
- Ability to understand, evaluate and make judgments on proposals (RFPs).
- Knowledge of benefits contract language and all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers' compensation, Medicare, OBRA, and Social Security and DOL requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in human resource management or related field and three to five years of related benefits or employee benefits administration experience.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP and CEBS professional designations preferred.
