Every Special Child is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our team at Ventura County. The RBT will provide one-on-one behavior intervention services to students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related developmental disabilities in a school setting, under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The ideal candidate will have a valid RBT certification, possess excellent behavior management skills, and be knowledgeable about Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and techniques in a school setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and skill acquisition programs designed by the BCBA, and follow established protocols and procedures to provide consistent and effective behavior support to students with ASD and related developmental disabilities.
  • Provide one-on-one direct instruction and support to students in various school settings, including classrooms, playgrounds, and other areas, to help students develop and improve social, communication, academic, self-help, and other functional skills.
  • Collect and record data on students' behavior and skill acquisition progress, and maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of services provided, in compliance with school and agency policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with school personnel, parents/guardians, and other members of the school team to develop and implement strategies for managing challenging behaviors, promoting positive behavior change, and facilitating generalization of skills across settings and situations.
  • Follow established safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being and safety of students and staff during behavior intervention sessions, including crisis prevention and intervention techniques as needed.
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in ABA principles and techniques, and maintain RBT certification requirements.
  • Collaborate with the BCBA and other members of the school team to provide feedback on students' progress, share observations and insights, and contribute to the development and revision of behavior intervention plans and skill acquisition programs.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with students, parents/guardians, school staff, and other stakeholders, and communicate effectively and professionally with all parties involved.
  • Adhere to all state and federal laws, regulations, and professional standards related to behavior intervention services, including maintaining confidentiality of student information and records.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working as an RBT, preferably in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and techniques, and experience implementing behavior intervention plans and skill acquisition programs for individuals with ASD and related developmental disabilities.
  • Excellent behavior management skills, with the ability to effectively manage challenging behaviors and promote positive behavior change.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents/guardians, school staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to collect and record data accurately and maintain documentation in compliance with school and agency policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of crisis prevention and intervention techniques, and ability to follow established safety protocols and procedures during behavior intervention sessions.
  • Ability to participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in ABA principles and techniques, and maintain RBT certification requirements.
