Role Summary/Purpose:
This role will support Acquisition Portfolio Credit Management efforts for the Health & Wellness portfolio. This includes driving enhancements to credit monitoring and performance metrics, credit, fraud and operational risk evaluation, delinquency/loss mitigation and enforcement of risk policies.

Essential Responsibilities:
Manage credit risk while driving portfolio growth and profitability
Support the design and implementation of enhanced acquisition strategies, using champion/challenger learnings to manage credit and fraud risk
Manage fraud risk , actively looking for better customer experience and control fraud risk
Provide appropriate reporting and analysis for portfolio monitoring, communicate insights and findings to senior PCMs and SLT
Ensure strategies are performing as expected
Drive and coordinate Loss Avoidance Initiatives
Understand and monitor the operational risks of the portfolio Participate in planning cycle with Finance, Client Development, Marketing, and other functions to ensure consistency in business plans
Enforcement of existing Bank credit policies
Prepare and deliver presentations for a variety of audience and management levels
Investigate and resolve various customer and client issues
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience in a strategic analytical role, or in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, 8+ years of experience in strategic analytical role , or in lieu of BLP company sponsorship program
2+ years in a portfolio management role, with strong emphasis on credit strategy, credit policy, and internal/external communications
2+ years’ experience analyzing large data sets to derive strategic actionable credit insights including SAS, R or Python Programming Skills, 2+ years SQL Skills
Experience operating at a strategic level as part of a cross functional team
Desired Characteristics:
Master’s Degree or MBA with advanced analytic focus, or equivalent advanced degree
Experience using advanced modeling & data mining techniques (e.g. Machine learning, Big Data) to develop/ optimize Credit strategies
Experience developing Consumer Credit Risk Strategies
Strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to interact with and present to SYF senior leaders and clients
Experience with commercial lending products and practices
Grade/Level: 10
The salary range for this position is 65,000.00 - 130,000.00 USD Annual
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.
Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
