Title: Associate Director, In Vivo

Reaction Biology is a contract research organization (CRO) that was founded in 2001. We provide contract research services to over 1500 clients worldwide through our labs in Malvern and Hershey in Pennsylvania and Freiburg and Heidelberg in Germany. Position Summary:

Directly manage the assigned group's day-to-day operations, provide scientific support to clients, lead problem solving, quality, and safety control efforts within the laboratory, manage performance evaluations, and other tasks.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision of lab personnel.

  • Oversee the daily technical operations of the lab.

  • Coordinate technical activities, assigning lab personnel to project tasks.

  • Coordinate training plans for employees in Hershey, working with Human Resources and Quality departments.

  • Improve productivity and efficiency within the laboratory to supplement data driven decision making on capacity planning.

  • Responsible for ensuring on-time delivery of client studies.

  • Oversight of quality to reduce/eliminate the instance of technical errors.

  • Management responsibilities include personnel decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity, and daily operations.

  • Support the Study Directors, including assisting in troubleshooting issues that arise in the analyses or data.


Key Qualifications:

  • PhD with 7+ years' experience in the biological, biochemical, and/or pharmaceutical sciences, or relevant equivalent experience with bachelor's or Master's degree

  • Prior experience in the CRO industry, and/or related field is preferred

  • 3+ years' previous management experience Advanced knowledge of the operational needs of a laboratory
