Full Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities of the Assoc Dean of Nursing

Under the direction of the Dean of Nursing, the Associate Dean of Nursing assists with management of administrative functions of the Nursing Department. The Associate Dean collaborates with the Dean on strategic planning and initiatives; administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development and evaluation; compliance with NJ State Board and programmatic/institutional accreditations; assessment; faculty development, hiring, and performance appraisal; and student support and discipline

Responsibilities include:

1. Supervises, evaluates, and oversees the faculty and staff

2. Creates, implements, and evaluates professional development plans, including orientations, for faculty and staff

3. Participates in planning, implementing, and evaluating tutoring, academic advising, remediation activities and other related student services projects of the department

4. Monitors programs to ensure compliance with State and accreditation standards

5. Participates in curriculum planning, implementation, assessment, and evaluation

6. Oversees maintenance of clinical agencies in collaboration with the Clinical Coordinator

7. Oversees maintenance of the labs and simulations in coordination with the Lab Coordinator

8. Coordinates with the Clinical Coordinator for all clinical activities, evaluation, and assessment, and students’ compliance with clinical and medical requirements

9. Responds and resolves student behavioral and health/safety issues

10. Coordinates academic advising and student course advising during enrollment

11. Participates in the development and submission of the department budget to the appropriate office

12. Participates in the development and writing of the programmatic accreditation self-study report

13. Advises and responds to questions from College departments and external agencies regarding issues related to policies, admission, clinicals, and compliance

14. Leads faculty and staff meetings

15. Creates semestral schedules in coordination with the Lab and Clinical Coordinators

16. Coordinates with the IT and e-learning Department for technology needs and concerns of the department

17. Meets and/or communicates with publishers when necessary for student and faculty resources

18. Participates in institutional committees and leads department committees

19. Performs other related duties assigned by the Dean.

Salary: $100,000/year

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $100,001.00 per year
