Associate Dean - College of Business and Analytics
Job description
Associate Dean for the College of Business and Analytics is a full time, 12 month, fiscal year appointment reporting directly to the Dean of the College of Business and Analytics (CoBA).
- Constructs, drafts, & submits timely College internal & external reports on behalf of the Dean.
- Facilitates & coordinates with the Dean, Chairs/Director, College administrators & various College committees to ensure: College/AACSB policies are followed; curriculum is current; course offerings are adequate; effective academic resource utilization; & students' needs are met.
- Chairs or serves as Ex-Officio member of various college committees per the College's Operating Paper.
- In support of the Dean, oversees undergraduate and graduate academic program administration.
- Assists in the development & enforcement of faculty policy governing admission, retention & graduation requirements for undergraduate & graduate students.
- Works closely with the MACC, MBA & Ph.D. program chairs to develop & execute policies as established by their program committees. Hears student appeals, organizes student appeal committee hearings & responds to student requests as they come up through the administrative hierarchy.
- Acts as Dean's designee in the Dean's absence.
- Maintains personal research & an appropriate teaching agenda. Teaches one class per semester.
- Other miscellaneous activities include: facilitates selection of nominees & winners of CoBA student awards, faculty awards & scholarship recipients; serves as CoBA Marshall at Graduation Ceremonies; organizes voting processes involving CoBA faculty; reviews & writes recommendations for the Dean on ORDA grant applications & other Summer Fellowship Programs.
Must be an Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC) College of Business and Analytics tenured professor or tenured associate professor, with a minimum of two years experience at SIUC. Must also demonstrate knowledge, skills, and abilities in diversity and cultural competency.
