The Securities Processing Division in our Los Angeles office is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Tax Reporting to join our team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Analyze and correct cost basis and/or tax records on Fidelity Information Services (FIS)/Refinitiv service bureau platforms using cost basis engines Scivantage/TAXL and tax reporting systems
- Analyze and correct records transmitted to Wall Street Concepts - Compliance Plus tax reporting module in preparation for year-end cut over and the generation of the following tax forms: 1099 Consolidated Tax Statement, 1042S, Form 2439, Form 1097 BTC and the Puerto Rico 480 series
- Analyze and process cost basis changes when Reorganization events such as stock splits, spin offs, reverse splits, rights exercise, warrant exercise, mergers, tender offers, etc. occur
- Manage, analyze, and input missing cost basis received from broker dealer account transfers, certificate deliveries, DWACs, DRS’ and book entry movements
- Manage, analyze, and ensure cost basis on outgoing broker dealer account transfers, physical deliveries, DWACs, DRS’ and book entry movements are delivered
- Assist Salesforce team with daily cost basis and tax related inquiries and instructions
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned
Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university, preferably in Math, Business, or related field preferred
- Proficient with MS Word, Outlook, Access and PowerPoint required
- Proficient Excel skills preferred (must know VLOOKUP)
- Knowledge of SQL a plus, but not required
- Knowledge of SunGard Phase 3, BETA, DTC PBS/PTS
- Excellent math, reading comprehension, verbal and written communication skills
- Professional presentation and effective interpersonal skills is a must
- Aptitude for numbers and demonstrated problem solving abilities required
- Experience working with Refinitiv/TAXL or FIS/Scivantage preferred

Decisions regarding compensation are determined on a case-by-case basis and are dependent on a variety of factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The hiring salary range for this role is $110,000-$140,000. At Wedbush, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at, or near, the top of the range for their role. Colleagues may be eligible for additional, discretionary incentive compensation based on the colleague's and the firm's performance.
