Job Summary/Basic Function
The Assistant Vice President and Chief of Operations is a strategic leader within the Enrollment Management division which includes the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, the Registrar’s Office, and the Office of Financial Aid. This position reports to the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management and Dean of Admissions. The Assistant Vice President and Chief of Operations directs the division’s department managers in the use of data and systems integral to the mission of the division. This position leads enrollment modeling and projections, technology-supported business processes, data management, systems management, project management, reporting and analytics, and process design for the division and in partnership with others on behalf of the university and the State System. This position works with all divisional leaders to set strategy and develop tactics to support and enhance the Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) Plan within the context of the University strategic plan. The Assistant Vice President and Chief of Operations requires a systems and data expert who will be functionally responsible for the integrity, security, utility, and accessibility of data collected and shared by the division regarding historic and current prospective and enrolled students. Ultimately, the position will develop and manage a highly-accurate and complex, multi-year enrollment projections model.

Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in a technical field.
- 5 years of management experience in at least one major area of Enrollment Management.
- Experience with:
- Systems development in higher education enrollment.
- Student Information Systems.
- Creating meaningful KPIs.
- Data gathering and analysis.
- Strategic Planning.
- Leadership and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Configuring student information systems and customer relationship management systems.
- Knowledge of 3rd party platforms.
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Evidence of a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Successful interview.
- Successful completion of three background checks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a public educational institution or system.
- Prior professional work experience as part of a multifunctional team.
- Prior experience using Technolutions/Slate, Ellucian/Banner

Job Description
- Create sophisticated enrollment models and projections and update throughout the annual enrollment cycle.
- Maximize SIS capabilities in Admissions, Financial Aid, and the Registrar’s Office in support of student recruitment and retention. Direct and support managers in those areas for system and process improvements.
- Advise and support the Assoc VP in the development and continuous KPI review for SEM plan and annual tactical plans.
- Liaise with State System for required software and hardware system updates.
- Work with 3rd party providers (Slate, College Board, Common App, etc.) to maximize productivity of contracted services.
- Liaise with IT and Institutional Research to enhance system and reporting needs for internal and external clientele.
- Direct and support managers in Admissions, Financial Aid, and the Registrar’s Office to innovate system enhancements for improvements in service to facilitate satisfaction among prospective and enrolled students.
- Develop enrollment models and projections; make decisions about appropriate methodology.
- Direct Enrollment Management management team (within budgetary constraints) in the acquisition of EM tools.
- Direct Enrollment Management management team in the most efficient and effective use of systems in support of recruitment and retention.
- Develop Enrollment Management KPIs and create tracking mechanisms.
- Direct appropriate configuration of software systems in Enrollment Management to meet PASSHE requirement (for example, OneSys).
- Redesign application for admission to maximize appropriate data collection and ease of use.
- Review new and existing vendor contracts for Enrollment Management and make recommendations for continuing/acquiring.
- Represent Enrollment Management interests with IT and IRE in the development of university- and system-wide reporting decisions.
- Give Enrollment Management managers direction that will enhance customer (i.e. student, faculty, administration) experience with their departments/systems.
