Assistant Teacher- full-time and part-time positions available
Job description:
In the position of Assistant Child Educator, employees are expected to teach, model, and show love to all children, staff, and families. Each employee is expected to create an atmosphere that is inviting, comforting, and engaging.
Duties
Responsibilities and Duties; include but are not limited to:
Take care of the daily needs of each child in their care, from feeding to diapering to meeting emotional needs of the child.
Follow the center's policies and State guidelines while modeling positive behaviors.
Complete and/or maintain all State mandated training and education requirements.
Help the Lead Child Educator create and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and classroom environments.
Help the Lead Child Educator observe, and assess each child that is a part of their classroom.
Eat with the children during meal and snack times; and help each child learn, understand, and practice real life skills.
Attend a minimum of 10 staff meetings per calendar year.
Requirements
Qualifications and Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
18 years of age with a High School diploma or equivalent and willing to do trainings that are required by HSCC
Reliable transportation and ability to meet scheduling requirements
Ability to pass State mandated background check
Strong desire to meet the needs of families, children, and community
Nice To Haves
Desirable Skills/Experience
Previously attained Wisconsin DCF qualified training
Experience working in a State Licensed Childcare Center
Fluency in a second language an asset
Experience working with children from diverse cultural backgrounds an asset

- Part-time positions will be cross trained and scheduled for some kitchen duties.
