Position Highlights

The University of Arizona Department of Philosophy is searching for an Assistant Professor (tenure-eligible), with an interest in candidates specializing in political philosophy in the classical liberal tradition, beginning in Fall 2023. The Department of Philosophy invites applications from candidates with successful research programs who are committed to excellence in graduate and undergraduate teaching. We seek individuals who will promote interdisciplinary education and research; the successful applicant will also be a core faculty member in the Center for the Philosophy of Freedom. Applicants should have the capacity for communicating effectively with diverse constituencies on campus and outside of the university. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Undergraduate and graduate teaching, three courses a year (contingent on affiliation with the Center)
  • Maintain an active program of research
  • Provide service to the department, college, university, center, and profession
  • Workload: 30% Teaching, 50% Research, 20% Service/Outreach
