The Berlin-Boylston Regional School District comprises three schools - two elementary schools and one middle-high school - which serve the residents of the towns of Berlin and Boylston Massachusetts. Tahanto Regional Middle-High School is a learning community of approximately 500 students in Grades 6 - 12. The Assistant Principal is part of a team that includes the Principal, a Special Education Coordinator, a full-time school psychologist, and an adjustment counselor as well as the school guidance department.We are seeking a learning leader who can demonstrate a deep understanding of pedagogy at the middle/high school level and a strong commitment to establishing high expectations for all students. A successful candidate will be able to utilize data to enhance student success, be a strong role model for a positive climate among students and staff, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Strong communication skills are essential.Current licensure as a middle/high school principal, including SEI endorsement as recognized by DESE.Five years of elementary or secondary teaching experience.Previous experience as a principal or assistant principal is preferred.Proven ability as an educational leader in a public school environment.Proven ability to communicate orally and in writing to staff, students, the superintendent of schools, school committee members, parents, and community members.Knowledge of school management procedures, including curriculum development and implementation procedures.Ability to design, implement and consistently enforce a school-wide student disciplinary system.Trained to carry out a professional evaluation and supervision program.Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
