Overview:
The Assistant Director is responsible for assisting the Director in the development, implementation, and day to day operation of the program, which includes direct interventions and services to children and their families. - Perform the following personnel functions: interviewing, hiring, supervision, training, and evaluation
- Ensure that adequate supervision around improvement of job performance is provided in a supportive, constructive manner
- Provide leadership for staff in creating a positive work environment
- Work with the Director and Program Assistant (Support Staff) to ensure that the staff’s payroll and training needs are addressed
- Ensure that the program is run in a safe, therapeutic and efficient manner
- Develop cooperative, effective and functional teams to ensure that the program developed is implemented
- Support the general well-being of the agency and participate in all administrative and program meetings
- Monitor the prompt completion of employees’ required paperwork
- Coordinate and participate in meetings for Clinical Standards and administrative oversight
- Remain in compliance with all agency training requirements
- Assist clients with medication self-administration following medication management training if applicable
- Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques as per Seneca's Equilibrium model training. This may include intervening with the clients' behavioral program through physical management of the clients, if applicable. Training in additional crisis intervention modalities such as CPI may be required
- Demonstrate professional behavior at all times in accordance with Seneca's mission and philosophy
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or director of the program
- Master’s level of education in social services, social work, or public policy preferred; OR
- Bachelor’s degree plus relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a Master’s degree
- At least one year of administrative or supervisory experience in a social work, direct care, childcare, or youth community care facility setting
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement programs
- Understanding of the needs of child welfare involved youth
- TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies’ insurance policy
- Proof of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination or an HR-approved medical/religious exemption
- Monday - Friday
- 8 AM-4 PM
- Starting salary $80,400- $94,400 per year
- Additional compensation provided upon passing bilingual language proficiency exam
