Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will coordinate, plan, direct and manage electrical maintenance groups. The selected candidate will direct the inspection, maintenance, and repair of communication cable system, including fiber-optics, high and low voltage power cables, electrical circuits, relay systems. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: overseeing 215 power substations widely distributed throughout the five boroughs Power Control Center, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA system), substation supervisory control & battery charging equipment, power rectifiers and related equipment; directing and managing power maintenance activities in support of the capital modernization program as well as overseeing investigation, assessment and corrective action for various corrosion problems.
Education and Experience:
A bachelor's degree in electrical, civil, mechanical engineering, or a related field of study, and 12 years of full-time related experience of which 8 years must have been in a managerial/supervisory/administrative capacity; Or
A satisfactory combination of education and experience.

- Strong knowledge of NYCT rules & regulations.
- Thorough knowledge of Subways and MOW policies and procedures.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and electronic equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of power engineering design and operation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong PC skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Selection Method:
Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.
All appointments. with the exception of Department of Subways employees on MaBSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
Other Information:
As an employee of MTA New York City Transit, you may be required to complete an annual financial disclosure statement with the State of New York, if your position earns more than $105,472 (this figure is subject to change) per year or if the position is designated as a policy maker.
