Job description
Primary Purpose:
- Help meet the physical and instructional needs of individual students with disabilities inside and outside the classroom.
- Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEP), including self-help, behavior management, and instruction programs.
- Work under the general supervision of a principal and immediate direction of a certified teacher.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Texas educational aide certificate or willing to obtain a certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to work with children with disabilities.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- SAMA certification (or able to obtain after hire).
Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with children.
