What would your typical day look like?
- Coordinate and oversee the rotation of production activities in the area to ensure customers’ needs are met.
- Monitor standardized work being followed.
- Establish production standards and monitor individual tech performance to ensure area goals are met.
- Facilitate a team environment between maintenance, quality, and press to ensure goals are met.
- Ensure all procedures, policies, and work instructions are followed via an internal audit process.
- Plan to minimize disruption of production.
- Assist the Area Coordinator (Manager) in the development of departmental budgets, production forecasting, and direct labor needs.
- Assist the Area Coordinator (Manager) in achieving the business objectives and financial performances of the Department, Plant, Division, and Corporation
- Work as a liaison between Product and Support Techs to minimize downtime.
- Prepare and present presentations to large and small groups.
- Conduct effective evaluations and monitor the skill level of the Product Techs
- Conduct training for Teammates.
- Gathering information and auditing daily reports.
Quality:
- Work closely with the quality area to create and maintain systems that ensure quality products.
- Support Teammates in their efforts to consistently exceed customer expectations and maximize production and quality while minimizing downtime and scrap.
- Communicate all potential quality concerns.
- Enforce all area and plant quality procedures.
- Maintain all customer and TS requirements.
Continuous Improvement/ Training:
- Actively encourage participation in the idea program by effectively resolving and implementing Teammate ideas.
- Identify training opportunities to develop and maintain a highly motivated and capable team.
- Promote a continuous improvement atmosphere to ensure teammates are engaged.
- Lead efforts to reduce cost and improve efficiency to meet planned / plant objectives.
- Facilitate Metalsa Model and Metalsa Operating System training and implementation.
- Develop, conduct, deliver, and assess training needs for Employee Development and Succession
Education and Experience:
- High school degree/diploma.
- Associate degree or combination of education.
- 3 years of manufacturing experience is required.
- 2 years’ experience in supervision/management.
- Participation in a significant role on the MOS, either deploying a practice, training in a tool or methodology, leading problem-solving, or other applied leadership experience.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient computer skills/Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)- Required
- Experience with automated manufacturing related to robotics in the assembly production environment.
- Knowledge of manufacturing programs, systems, processes, procedures, products, and planning (quality and safety).
- Basic financing concepts.
- Lean manufacturing (TPS).
- Experience w/ employee involvement teams (Black Belt, Kaizen, TPM, etc.)
- Quality Management Systems.
- Human Development Management.
- Cross-functional leadership.
- Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability Management Fundamentals.
- Core Manufacturing Processes (Stamping, Assembly, Painting, Welding, Hydroforming).
- Logistics.
