Job Title: ASL SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETING

Description:

Sanford federal is looking for a candidate to provide sign language interpreting services to students, staff, and parents who are deaf or hard of hearing to assure communication access during classroom instructions, meetings, and other Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) sponsored events.
Work Location Prince George's County Public Schools.TASKS: Provide in-person interpretations.Provide virtual interpretations with ability to navigate virtual interpreting platforms.Provide sign to voice and voice to sign interpretationsSign and interpret in legal and confidential environments.Use and interpret school-related and academic vocabulary.Provide sign language interpretations services, including teacher consultation,
appropriate to meet the needs of the individual students as determined by the
Individualized Education Plan team.Interpret interactions between employees and various members of school staff,
interpret school-wide events (orientations and graduations, theatrical and
extracurricular events), and other events as required.Provide a plan highlighting tools and processes to help parents and teachers
reinforce and support students’ therapeutic outcomes and encourage their
application in the classroom, home and during social interactions.
Qualifications:

• candidate shall demonstrate a minimum of three (3) years of experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of providing services outlined in the job description. Experience

providing services in diverse educational settings. * Level of expertise and experience of staff members (inclusive of resumes), to

include number of staff members with three (3) or more years providing services,number of staff members with three (3) or more years providing services in aneducational setting with experience services students with varied speech andlanguage disorders and disabilities.
