Job Purpose: The Aquatics Director performs professional duties in management and operations of Aquatics program at SHGCC.

Job Summary (Essential Functions)

Aquatics

• Develop a group philosophy and educate coaches on team philosophy for different age groups so that there is one standard formula for each group.
• Manage and lead the assistant coaches and a group of 100 + swimmers ages 6-18. Provide direction and leadership for the clubs’ pre-team swim program.
• Ability to organize and supervise swim practices of various age groups, swimming weekdays, various morning practices including Saturdays and weekend swim meets as scheduled.
• Develop daily and weekly and seasonal plans for swim practices balancing technical skills and fun.
• Offer a private and group swim lesson schedule that provides sufficient availability to members and offers a quality swim lesson program.
• Participate in and assist in planning seasonal team outings.
• Always promote and support safe habits and a safe environment.
• Hold current coaches’ safety, CPR, and first aid certification.
• Ensure all services to members are conducted in a highly professional and efficient manner.
• Develop or assist in the marketing and distribution of program information, organize and schedule program registrations.
• Communicate as necessary with COO/GM to discuss conditions of pool, member comments and scheduled events.
• Establish new program activities and expand program within the Club in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
• Compile program statistics. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in program.
• Ensure that payroll time sheets and swim lesson records for the coaching staff are maintained and submitted to HR in a timely manner
• Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule and direct personnel and volunteers as needed. Review and evaluate staff performance. Develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Ensure record of staff certifications are current and complete.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment: Must be able to lift 50 lbs., as well as sit/stand for extended periods of time. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, lifting, bending, stooping, and squatting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.

Work Schedule and Hours: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary based on need. Frequent evening and weekend work are required.

Compensation: This is a salaried position ranging from $73,000 to $120,000 annually.
