JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Aquatics Director or designee, the Aquatics Coordinator is responsible to ensure all participants are provided with activities which promote the social, cultural, educational, physical, and leadership potential of the child. Under the Aquatics Coordinator's supervision, all aquatic classes will be organized and staffed by qualified swim instructors who reflect and support the Mission of the Old Colony Y. The Aquatics Coordinator will uphold the employee code of conduct and will ensure that all areas of the job responsibilities reflect the mission of the Old Colony Y, and regulating agency. The Aquatics Coordinator will display and encourage the character traits of caring, responsibility, honesty and respect in the fulfillment of all job duties.
Requirements:EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma (associates degree preferred)
- Minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience
- Maintain certification in Lifeguarding, CPR and First Aid
- Must have current Lifeguard Certification: YMCA, Red Cross or Ellis
- Must attend YMCA LGI & WSI within 6-9 months
- CPO preferred must attain within 3 months
- Must be physically able to teach aquatic lessons & lift an adult male from the pool to the pool deck.
