Summary

The Annuals Planting Crew Member will be responsible for installing and replanting annual plant material for our residential and commercial customers ensuring the material receives the proper amount of water, fertilizer, and care, as well as performing other general plant maintenance duties.

Role and Responsibilities

1. Checks, prepares, and loads assigned vehicle with plant materials and tools needed for daily work assignments

2. Operates a variety of equipment such as spade, rake and other related equipment to complete daily assignments

3. Clean flowerbeds and surrounding areas by collecting and discarding lawn debris, weeds, litter or other waste materials

4. Applies fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto flowerbeds and plant containers by spraying or spreading

5. Follows watering and care standards to ensure proper hydration and maintenance of annual plant material

6. Installs or replants new annual plant and flower materials

7. Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

· On the job training offered

· Basic knowledge of plants and gardening or an interest in learning about plants

Preferred Skills

· Good written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to work efficiently and thoroughly

· Ability to follow directions

· Thorough understanding of how to water, fertilize, and care for various types of annual plant material

· Ability or willingness to operate various types of motorized equipment including but not limited to truck and box truck

· Ability to follow instructions and complete assignments

Additional Notes

· Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation

· Prolonged periods of standing, walking, stretching, bending, climbing ladders, kneeling, and pulling

· Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions

· Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at a time

· Maintain a regular, dependable attendance record

Must be 16 years of age or older

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
