Impulse Dynamics (USA), Inc. is a fast-growing medical device company that has pioneered a new form of therapy for heart failure called Cardiac Contractility Modulation, or CCM TM, which is delivered by the company's Optimizer® Smart System. CCM is a first-of-a-kind, proprietary, life-changing treatment alternative for a vast population of heart failure patients across the globe. With global headquarters in Marlton, N.J., the company has additional offices in Frankfurt, Germany; Pearl River, N.Y.; Beijing, China and Montevideo, Uruguay.
There are 64 million patients struggling with Heart Failure worldwide. When these Heart Failure patients continue to decline despite being on optimum pharmaceutical therapy, they lose hope. The only options down the road are extremely invasive. CCM therapy is an FDA Breakthrough designated solution that is minimally invasive and gives hope back to these patients.
This is not a job; it is a MISSION to help the nearly one million patients (in the United States alone) who are struggling with heart failure and qualify for CCM therapy. This requires a team of the best medical device and therapy awareness representatives in the world to educate the cardiology community.
The Clinical Department is responsible for executing clinical studies in full compliance with company standard operating procedures, good clinical practices, and applicable regulatory guidelines. Clinical plays a significant role in overseeing all aspects of the study, including external vendors, and coordinating with Regulatory, Commercial, Legal, Finance, and other departments within Impulse Dynamics. In this way, the department serves as a cross-functional liaison and creates a positive, collaborative team environment with an eye toward innovation and operational excellence. You will be joining a team that is committed to meaningfully advancing the science of heart failure treatment for a global community of patients and their healthcare providers.
The Impulse Dynamics (ID) APP Liaison (APPL) will serve as a key clinical liaison to physicians and advanced practice health care providers (collectively HCPs) as well as potential and current patients. The APPL will communicate complex medical and scientific information to a variety of external stakeholders as well as communicating key insights from customer intelligence and patient care trends to internal stakeholders, which may include the clinical, product development, marketing, and leadership teams as directed.
Through the APPL's ability to interface, educate and collaborate with ID customers they should respond to customer inquiries with focused and balanced clinical and scientific information and thoughtful and medically sound assessments that support the appropriate use of ID's products and services, and help develop, implement and enhance strategies to identify patients for CCM/Optimizer device therapy in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.
Through the APPL's ability to interface, educate and collaborate with ID customers they should respond to customer inquiries with focused and balanced clinical and scientific information and thoughtful and medically sound assessments that support the appropriate use of ID's products and services, and help develop, implement and enhance strategies to identify patients for CCM/Optimizer device therapy in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.
How You'll Add Value
Expertise and Education
- External Education - The APPL will help execute medical education and commercial plans via external presentation of scientific, clinical and educational materials, individually or in groups, where requested.
- Expertise - As a fellow healthcare provider the APPL will serve as a resource to provide initial responses to medical information requests from customers regarding ID technology and patient identification questions, based on relevant clinical scientific data and clinical experience.
- Internal Education -The APPL will participate as a subject matter expert in internal educational programs to provide educational/training support to the commercial and clinical teams regarding disease state, available therapeutic options and appropriate use of ID therapeutic products using up-to-date technical, medical and scientific information.
Advocacy & Outreach
- HCP Advocacy - The APPL will research and recommend local, regional, and national APP-focused organizations, with the intent of building a network of APPs to increase awareness and support educational efforts at approved meetings, gatherings, etc.. Additionally, the APPL(s) will be responsible for managing the Impulse Dynamics APPeX (Advanced Practice Provider Expert) panel.
Patient Advocacy - The APPL will work together with the Manager – Patient & Provider Education to identify and cultivate compelling patient to patient content for our various channels.
What You're Bringing with You
Knowledge & Educational Requirements
- Advanced Practice Provider degree
- 10+ years' work experience in the healthcare provider setting
- Extensive knowledge of the HF disease state
- Extensive knowledge of the healthcare and hospital environment
Skills & Abilities
- Computer, computer software and technology competence, including TEAMS platform
- Communication – writing, speaking & presentation
- Ability to work in a matrixed organization
Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Fast-paced setting
- Travel (up to 80% of the standard business week)
- Working occasional evening and weekend hours
