Job Summary
Charles River Labs is seeking a Temporary Administrative Assistant for our Safety Assessment site located in Durham.
The Administrative Assistant will provide exceptional customer service and on-site support to managers and laboratory and handle competing demands, from routine office duties, to planning onsite events for employees, and contacting vendors for facility-related needs.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm (May - July 2023)
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and receptionist support for various departments and handle daily office operations
- Greet and collaborate with various stakeholders in a professional and courteous manner (staff, visitors, couriers, vendors, clients, and contractors)
- Appropriately direct incoming calls, mail, and shipping activities
- Respond to inquiries and informational requests
- Relay information and requests to department members and follow up, as needed
- Establish and maintain files, prepare correspondence, and assist with reports
- Make meeting and travel arrangements, maintain management calendars, and oversee scheduling of conference rooms
- Order office supplies and ensure office machinery is maintained
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- With guidance, handle special projects and duties (i.e. data collection, report creation, database maintenance, contacting personnel for routine updates, etc)
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
- Associate’s degree (AA/AS) or equivalent from two-year college, preferred
- 3+ years of administrative experience in an office setting, or related experience
- Knowledge of Concur or other expense reporting system, highly desirable
- Computer proficiency in MS office suite, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams
- Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills
- Highly adaptable and detail-oriented
- Ability to work with professionalism, discretion, and tact
The pay range for this position is $24-$25/hour. Please note that compensation varies based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, and certifications.
