WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

The Actuarial Analyst is responsible for the compilation, analysis, and synthesization of complex data sets to effectively interpret operational and financial data, ultimately contributing to strategic planning and operational improvements for the Company.

WHAT YOU'D BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Math Ability: Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in the Microsoft Professional Suite of software; Internet software, Vendor software, and Billing systems.
  • Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical manuals, financial statements
  • Analytical and Technical Skills: Synthesizes complex and diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses knowledge and experience to complement data and problem solve; Identifies items requiring additional information or action. Possesses sound data analytical skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, MS-Access, MS-SQL); Strives to continuously build knowledge base and technical skills; Shares expertise with others.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills; Presents numerical data effectively; Ability to successfully build relationships and adapt communication style appropriately; Listens and requests clarification; Responds well to questions and feedback; Contributes effectively in meetings; Speaks clearly and persuasively in a manner suitable to the understanding of the listener.
  • Quality Management: Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Adapts to changes in the work environment; Manages competing demands; Changes approach or method to best fit the situation; Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events. Follows instructions, responds to Management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; keeps commitments; Completes tasks on time, or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.

HOW YOU'D FIT IN:

  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Mathematics or Statistics Required
  • Less than 2 years Completion of one or more actuarial exams Preferred

In accordance with the California Equal Pay Act, the pay scale for this job is $66,430 - $78,590 . This pay scale is an estimate of the annual salary range the employer reasonably expects to pay for the position based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs, and other considerations consistent with applicable law. The actual hourly wage may be above or below the range. Pay scale applies only to this position and only if it is filled in California. The pay scale may be different for other positions or in other locations.
