Activities Aide Job Description

Responsibilities for activities aide

• Implements age-specific and individualized activities and group programs

• Records resident activity participation daily on the electronic computer documentation system

• Plans and promotes resident activities in advance to provide quality programs

• Requests needed supplies in advance to ensure material availability

• Delivers calendars, newsletters, activity books to resident rooms

• Assists with the transportation of residents

• Assist with transportation of residents in a company vehicle to and from appointments, shopping

• Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior and degree of involvement so that department can evaluate resident progress, by noting, reporting and charting resident behavior

• Be responsible for providing recreational programs to meet the needs and interests of residents in the facility

• Maintain records of participation in Recreational programs, escort residents to and from groups, assist residents on outings and direct volunteers

Qualifications for activities aide

• Excellent communicator/Patience

• Experience in Geriatric Care Preferred

• Experience with the dementia population preferred

• Energetic and enthusiastic, Positive attitude

• Willingness to drive passenger van.

Public speaker (stand in front small or large groups to run an activity)
