Accounts Payable Assistant

PathPoint, a leader in supporting people with disabilities and mental health diagnoses in living the life they choose, is seeking a part-time Accounts Payable Assistant to join our corporate finance team based in Santa Barbara, CA.
In this 20 hour per week role, you will handle accounts payable, manage data entry items through AvidXchange, and assist other Finance staff with special projects. Our ideal candidate exhibits strong attention to detail, excellent follow-through skills, and commitment to our mission. This position can be based in any of our service regions (Kern, Los Angeles, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, or Ventura County) with remote flexibility.
What you'll do:
- Enter all invoices into accounting system in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain accuracy of invoices and payments processed through AvidXchange.
- Determine the appropriate method of payment for each invoice based on vendor agreements, process non-routine checks as needed. and maintain records of all payments made.
- Resolve billing and payment variances and other disputes with vendors.
- Reconcile Accounts Payable to the General Ledger monthly, and identify, research, and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain vendor records for qualifying 1099 vendors, produce 1099 forms at year end, and send them to vendors and the IRS.
- Help division staff members understand Accounts Payable processes, including petty cash, invoice coding, and expense reimbursements, and verify completion and accuracy of reconciliations from divisions.
- Assist divisions with credit applications and store memberships.
- Handle corporate credit accounts, distribute and cancel cards as needed, and monitor credit limits.
- Maintain organized electronic filing systems.
- Assist the Controller with maintaining records for fixed assets, loan reconciliations, and property purchases.
What we're looking for:
- High School diploma or GED required and 6 months of relevant work experience.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and organization skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Must receive criminal history clearance from DOJ and pass pre-employment health screening and TB screening.
- Culturally sensitive and aware of differences in employees based on cultural backgrounds; aware of one's own culture and how someone's background may lead to biases; has the skills and resources needed to work with employees from all different cultures and the ability to avoid making biased assumptions based on someone's culture.

Compensation: This is an hourly, non-exempt position starting at $17.50 per hour. The pay range is $15.50-$22.61 an hour. The pay range is subject to change based on a variety of factors, and the maximum pay represents the wage potential based on attaining the highest level of position experience, talent, and responsibilities.
